Proton Launches Sirius 3 Satellite
International Launch Services successfully launched the third Sirius digital radio satellite last night on board a Russian Proton rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
The launch was at 7:59pm GMT and separation occurred 2.5 hours later. The Sirius satellites will provide 100 channels of digital-quality radio to motorists in the United States. This is the 14th successful Proton launch this year.
